Bingo
Have fun and socialize with your friends
Bingo is so ingrained in American society that when someone makes a correct guess, it’s not unusual for another person to say “bingo!” Of all the games played by people over 50, none have the tradition and popularity of bingo. Bingo games are played at churches, VFW halls and community centers all over the country.
Bingo is big business on the Web, too. A number of online bingo sites have propelled Internet bingo into the spotlight for many baby boomers. So whether you are thinking of heading to the community center, logging on or hosting your own bingo game, these handy tips will point you in the right direction for all your bingo needs:
- Community centers and churches are the dominant venues for bingo, but even casinos have gotten in on it. Depending upon the laws in your state, casinos and gaming halls can offer bingo for its customers, which may mean big prizes and a lot of fun for everyone.
- Online bingo is growing by leaps and bounds. Internet bingo sites are now available to connected Baby Boomers. Almost all of these sites offer real cash prizes to the winners, and there’s no chance of a false “bingo!” being yelled out to stop game play while you’re on a roll.
- If you decide to host your own bingo game, such as for a family gathering or to entertain friends, you’re going to need bingo supplies. Markers, chips, bingo cards, tumblers and balls all can be found in multiple places. On the Internet, bingo supplies can be purchased from trusted toy and hobby suppliers such as Toys ‘R’ Us. Also, local toy and hobby shops almost always carry bingo cards and markers. You’ll have supplies faster if you shop for them in person, but you’ll likely get better deals over the Internet.
Bingo can be a great way to entertain friends and even meet some new ones, so grab your dabber (real or electronic) and away you go!
